Let me just say from the get go that I am not a big eater and skipping meals was not only easy, but it soon became a habit. As a parent, I know that this is unhealthy but in my defence, as a business owner with a crazy schedule, I often found myself staring at the empty contents of my food shelf at 10pm at night only to munch on fruit instead of cooking a meal for one.
As for breakfast, I had absolutely no time or interest in eating first thing in the morning. I woke up and immediately turned to work and before I knew it, it would be 10pm again.
I have a firm background in both the health and nutraceutical industry and therefore always tend to make healthy food choices but breakfast was an obvious stumbling block. I know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but I lacked the motivation to find a suitable breakfast to suit my lifestyle.
Enter Thrive Breakfast Cereal. Thrive caught my eye because of the nutritional value it offers as well as convenient packaging for on the go. I purchased the vanilla (instead of the chocolate or strawberry) which comes in handy sachets so that I can slip one into my handbag and add to my smoothies or shakes.
Much to my surprise discovered that I actually enjoyed breakfast. But more importantly I found that I was a lot more productive during my day! It felt like my brain had been supercharged, not just my body! And that right there, is the real reason why we should all eat breakfast!
Now that I have grown accustomed to taking time out to eat a healthy breakfast, I decided to be adventurous and this is what I had for breakfast this morning. It was delicious and the best part (for me) was that it was a small amount that completely satisfied me.

- Granola bar (I love the crunch)
